Blood Culture Simulator

Browser training game for practicing the Gram-stain sequence and early organism identification from positive blood cultures.

The problem

Preparing a positive blood culture, applying stains in sequence, and reading morphology combine procedural steps with visual decisions. A learner needs practice with both.

My role

Microbiology content, training flow, visual cues, and browser-game implementation.

What I built

  • Playable Gram-stain workflow
  • Microscopy and morphology choices
  • Step feedback and failure states

The result

A runnable game for rehearsing the sequence and visual decisions involved in early blood-culture work.

How it works

The browser game leads the player through positive-culture setup, Gram staining, microscopy, and morphology choices. Incorrect steps trigger feedback and failure states within the training loop.

Technical context and methods

The linked browser build contains the staining sequence, microscopy cues, and organism-identification choices. It is a self-contained Lab Week training game.
